Stainless steel rivet nuts have gradually replaced traditional welded nuts due to their advantages such as non rusting and light weight. Nowadays, everyone likes to use stainless steel rivet nuts, but there are some things we need to pay attention to during their use.
The basic purpose of stainless steel rivet nuts is the same as that of carbon steel rivet nuts. But it is mainly used in non structural load-bearing bolt connections, such as the connection of interior components such as rail cars, road buses, ships, etc. The improved anti spin rivet nut is more excellent than the aircraft bracket nut. Its advantage is that the weight is lighter, the bracket nut does not need to be fixed with rivets in advance, and there is no operating space on the back of the substrate, which can still be used.
Precautions for stainless steel rivet nuts:
Tightening the stainless steel rivet nut too tightly can also cause rust at the interface, which is not conducive to disassembly. It is recommended to tighten the nut by hand first, and then use a wrench to tighten half a turn to one turn after reaching the end. When installing car tires, the screws should not be tightened too tightly, otherwise it may cause deformation of the screws and affect the fixation effect. On the same tire, the tightness of each screw should also be evenly distributed, and individual screws should not be tightened too tightly, otherwise it will affect the driving of the tire, and in severe cases, the screws may break due to uneven force.
If the stainless steel rivet nut needs to be installed on the outside, and the internal space is narrow, it is not possible to allow the pressure head of the riveting machine to enter for riveting, and methods such as sprouting cannot meet the strength requirements, then both riveting and expanding riveting are not feasible.
Stainless steel rivet nuts can be riveted onto a single thin plate, or two thin plates can be riveted together, serving as both rivets and nuts; It is also suitable for closed shaped workpieces that can only be operated on one side. In addition, for light metal workpieces requiring threaded connection, stainless steel rivet nuts are compact and easy to use inserts.
Due to the deformation of stainless steel rivet nuts under axial pressure applied at both ends, the stress situation is better than that of bulging with radial pressure applied to simple parts or pipe materials. After riveting, the length of stainless steel rivet nuts will be shortened, and their shrinkage is related to their material plasticity and size. To prevent the expansion coefficient from exceeding the allowable value and causing cracks in expansion, it is necessary to control its shrinkage.
